MSRO Science Team Joins NASA TESS Exoplanet Mission Follow-up Observing Group

WILDERNESS, Virginia, November 17, 2019—MSRO Science, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation announced that their team of astronomers has joined the NASA MIT Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) Follow-up Observing Program (FOP) known as TFOP earlier this year on May 12, 2019. Using the state-of-the-art small-telescope Mark Slade Remote Observatory (MSRO) they will be providing observations and data for stars with possible exoplanets known as TESS Objects of Interest (TOIs).

The MSRO Science team is led by VP Jerry Hubbell who has created the Mark Slade Remote Observatory eXOplanet Follow-up Observing Program (MSRO-XOFOP) to manage the work needed to perform and document the observations, analyze the data, and adhere to the reporting requirements of the NASA MIT TFOP. The Team has been training and developing processes and procedures over the past 6 months to get ready for the second half of the TESS mission where the satellite observes the Northern part of the celestial sphere.
